My work develops participatory design for responsible technologies across three registers: action research designing for community participation in public sector AI, the study of how people build resilience to sustain individual and collective agency amid technological disruption, and the epistemological foundations of technology underlying the empirical work.

Community Engagement in Public Sector AI

My doctoral research builds and deploys mechanisms for centering community experiences through participation in the development and deployment of public sector AI. It takes a relational approach, working through existing intermediaries in the information ecosystem to sustain community engagement.

AI Resilience: Individual and Collective Agency

This project develops AI resilience as the capacity to recognize, absorb, and strategically contest AI-driven disruption while sustaining individual and collective agency. It examines how people actively draw boundaries based on their situated knowledge to interact with AI systems that enter their workplaces, and proposes process evaluation for cases of deployment of synthetic agents in institutions whose legitimacy depends on human participation.

Epistemology and Philosophy of Technology

The philosophical foundation for my current empirical and design works. It uses political theory and critical epistemology to ask how AI reshapes labour, perception, governance, and the production of knowledge, and argues for interdisciplinary frameworks that move beyond technical rationality toward socially grounded accounts of algorithmic systems.

Policy & Curriculum

Global AI Policy Landscape and Theoretical Foundations of Governability

As Research Associate I contributed to the design of a graduate and undergraduate course, Governing AI: Policy, History, Theory — developing core readings that shaped the curriculum and situating AI regulation within its political, historical, and theoretical context, from the global regulatory landscape (EU, US, China, India) to the conceptual history of AI and the political theory of algorithmic systems and democratic agency. I also developed concept notes and convened panelists for two panels on AI governance.

Social Impact

Krushi Karma Naturals

Co-Founded with Winson RK · Manipur, India · 2018–2020

A community-technology and social-entrepreneurship initiative I co-founded and led on the technology and operations side, coordinating roughly 2,500 indigenous small-farming families in Manipur — in partnership with MOVCD-NER — to bring their produce to metropolitan markets. Working under real infrastructural constraints, I built the everyday coordination systems for procurement, logistics, and warehousing, run through low-bandwidth, off-the-shelf tools such as mobile messaging and shared spreadsheets. This experience of building sociotechnical infrastructure with and for an underserved community is the practitioner foundation that inspired my participatory, community-engaged approach to technology.
